Oil pastels are used for drawing and painting. They allow you to obtain thick, greasy strokes with saturated colors.
The ease with which they spread on paper depends on the ambient temperature. At higher temperatures, pastels are softer.
The colors can be mixed optically by hatching, crossing and subtly shading the applied colors.
The surface covered with oil pastels can be smoothed and rubbed with a damp finger.
