- Modeling clay is a high-quality thermosetting plastic. Perfect for creating models and mockups. You can also make small accessories from modeling clay: clips, brooches, and key rings. Models can be made by hand or by squeezing patterns into molds. Hard modeling clay softens due to the warmth of the hand. Models should be cured by heating in an oven at 100–110˚C for 15–20 minutes. Finished models smeared with vegetable oil take on more vivid colors.
